As a former President of the Division 38 and a former (2012) President of the American Psychological Association, I am well aware of what it takes to lead APA  effectively. I ...ask you to cast your first place vote for Dr. Susan McDaniel.  I have known Dr. McDaniel for many years, including serving with her on the APA Board of Directors. I urged her to run for APA President because I was so impressed with her organizational and leadership abilities. In addition, she has the expertise in health care and the connections with many other health care organizations that I believe APA needs at this time of major change in the healthcare landscape.

APA uses the Hare system for electing APA President. This means that you are asked to rank order candidates. I am asking you to rank order Dr. McDaniel first. However, if you are committed to giving your first place vote to another candidate, I ask you to give Dr. McDaniel your second place vote.
Suzanne Bennett Johnson PhD, APA Past President (2012)
