Event Description:

Kasim Hafeez was raised in a British Pakistani Muslim household. Growing up, he was exposed to extreme anti-Western and anti-Semitic ideas, leading him to embrace radical Islam in his teen years. At University, he became further radicalized, believing violence was the only way to really bring about change. After a chance encounter in a book store with The Case for Israel, Hafeez was forced to reevaluate his views, culminating in a life-changing trip to Israel. He will speak about his journey and how the misuse of the term "Islamophobia" is allowing radical Islam to flourish in Europe.

Speaker Bio:

Kasim Hafeez has been invited to speak to audiences all over the world, addressing university campuses, high schools, and community events in the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Israel, and South Africa on a wide range of issues regarding Israel, the Middle East, and radical Islam. In 2013, he was invited to speak on the topic of Muslim Antisemitism at the Israeli Foreign Ministry's Global Forum on Antisemitism in Jerusalem.

In addition to speaking engagements, Hafeez has been published by the British Jewish Chronicle, Y-net of Israel, and the Cape Town Argus in South Africa, while also writing blogs for the Times of Israel and Arutz Sheva news sites.

Hafeez is on the advisory board of StandWithUs UK, a fellow of The Lawfare Project and, in June 2014, took up the position of Education and Public Relations Officer for B'nai Brith Canada.
