Vestry Nominations

NOMINATIONS ARE DUE THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19! In the Episcopal Church, the Vestry is the primary lay oversight body of the congregation. It has many responsibilities, the greatest of which is praying and discerning the path God has in mind for this congregation.

Five persons will be elected by the congregation this year; four to serve three year terms and one will serve the final two years of an open position. The two-year term will be assigned after the election.

Persons may nominate themselves to serve on the Vestry with a second from a member of the congregation. Persons may nominate another member of the congregation to serve, provided the nominee agrees to serve if elected and there is a second from another member. Nominations and seconds may be emailed to Jan Modlinski. The election will take place at the annual meeting on January 25. If you are interested in serving or learning more, please click here.

Men's Breakfast, December 20
mens breakfast

For the Men's Breakfast on Saturday, December 20 we'll enjoy a hearty holiday treat of a breakfast as we wrap up our Impolite Conversations series with Mike Flynn as our guest speaker. Mike is a counselor and the Executive Director of Resource Guidance Services/Christian Counseling Associates.

The men have tackled lots of challenging topics this fall and it's time to tackle our final subject in the series: death. Whether it's the loss of parents, peers, or other loved ones, many of us are left wondering "why?" And while we know part of the answer - we are promised a seat at the Heavenly Banquet - it's still a difficult journey, especially if men feel challenged to deal with such emotional terrain.  Register now and then join us at 8:00 AM for some meaningful time with other Christ Church men on a spiritual journey.

In response to that stress we invite all to gather for a Service of Solace. This will provide time to reflect, remember, and pray.
