Trick or Treating It's Therapeutic
Trick or Treating is certainly a time-honored tradition. But did you know it also has significant therapeutic value? For the children receiving therapy at UCP-OC, Halloween is not only a time to dress up and get candy, though they certainly enjoyed both perks of the holiday, as you can see in our slideshow.
Our exceptional therapy team uses it as an engaging tool to help children with special needs to achieve milestones. A little boy with limited speech learned to skillfully say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you" by walking door-to-door in the Life Without Limits Therapy Center offices. A little girl who has difficulty picking up small objects was determined to pick out her candy herself.
At UCP-OC, our mission is to help children with disabilities reach their full potential, and by applying proven techniques in creative ways, our professional staff ensure each child has the tools they need to succeed. View the Halloween Slideshow.
