Construction Alert from South Coast Water District
Saturday Construction Work Scheduled to Begin This Weekend
Following the completion of Phase 1 and coordination between South Coast Water District (SCWD) and the City of Dana Point, SCWD is pleased to break ground on Phase 2 & 3 of the Dana Point Lantern District Infrastructure Improvement Project (project). The project consists of water, sewer, and recycled water infrastructure improvements. These improvements are a core element of the City of Dana Point's long-term plans to create a vibrant, lively, pedestrian-friendly downtown area.

The construction sequence began with the installation of sewer infrastructure on Golden Lantern, south of the intersection of Del Prado and Golden Lantern. Construction will continue north against traffic on Del Prado, with the sewer line terminating at Del Prado and Amber Lantern. Following sewer-main construction, laterals will be connected perpendicular to traffic lanes. Further updates will be provided as construction progresses.

Saturday work to begin October 25 at the intersection of Amber Lantern and Del Prado
In an effort to reduce total construction time, a second crew will begin installing water infrastructure improvements on Saturday October 25, 2014 at the intersection of Amber Lantern and Del Prado. The second crew will start on Amber Lantern and turn north onto Del Prado, against the flow of traffic. Sewer infrastructure will continue on Violet Lantern before continuing on Del Prado. Please note that the City is working on a separate median construction project on Del Prado.

Don't let a little construction dust get in the way of supporting our local Dana Point businesses. Shop Del Prado and support our small business owners like Jack's Restaurant/Bar, Luxe Restaurant and Martini Bar, Killer Dana Surf Shop and Dana Point Hardware (just to name a few!) who have supported our great community for so many years. Welcome Our New Members!
Capo Beach Church

In 1975, Chuck Smith Jr. started teaching a Bible study in the home of Jim and Fran Counter in Dana Point. After constant growth, they founded Calvary Chapel of Dana Point on a four-acre, hilltop property above the harbor. In the summer of 1985, they closed escrow on the Capistrano bowling alley and began renovations. Next time you walk through their sanctuary doors, you might catch an imaginary glimpse of bowling lanes headed right towards the stage. While they began as a branch of Calvary Chapel, they eventually became an independent church in 2002. They are a group of free-spirited, sandal wearing, beach community individuals that strive to welcome anyone and everyone in with open arms. They have five main services throughout the week for you to choose from. The weekend services on Saturday nights are held at 6:30 pm and on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM, 10:00 AM, and 11:30 AM. All three services are identical, so pick one that fits your wake-up time or sports schedule.
