When Iris Scott, a Seattle native, packed up her studio this past February and moved to Brooklyn to live and paint, she was asked "Why did you decide to move?"  Iris will tell you that she just had a hankering and couldn't help but act quickly on the impulse.


Her brand new show of finger painted originals features over  fourteen new pieces portraying a variety of subjects from sidewalks saturated in rain-soaked reflections and movement-rich motifs to her classic impressionist landscapes and figures. Deliciously textural oil colors collide on her canvases with whimsical and ferocious vigor. Finger painting is now fine art at the hands of this 30-year old artist Iris Scott, who is spearheading a movement to turn a child's technique into a grown up medium.
