Showing at Nazareth College
Hello,

We are very excited to announce a special screening of the award winning new film, Beginning With the End, at Nazareth College on Wednesday, April 8!

Beginning With the End captures the experiences of high-school seniors at The Harley School who choose to take a full-year elective simply called "Hospice," where they have the opportunity to become hands-on volunteers at comfort care homes in the Rochester area. Filmed over a 2-year period by David Marshall of Blue Sky Project Films, the documentary has received national recognition after making its debut at SXSW Film Festival.

The Huffington Post raves, "A stunning new documentary...Beginning With The End is not a sad movie, but one which captures the humor of old age, the willingness of teenagers to look beyond their own needs, and the reality of death."

This community event is free and open to the public. You are welcome to join us afterwards for a Q&A with several people involved in the program.

Please forward this message along to anyone who might be interested in seeing this wonderful and transformative film. Thank you and we hope to see you at Nazareth's Forum on April 8!

Director's Statement

"If you have ever wondered how wisdom moves from one generation to another, I can say, one way is by caring for someone who has nothing to offer in return but gratitude and a whispered part of their story.
My hope for the film is in some small way, that understanding will lead to a deeper appreciation of the necessity of living life deliberately, of making every moment matter, of understanding presence is enough and human touch has meaning beyond words. The end of life can be treated with the same wonder and joy as the moment of birth, and when young people are nurtured, trusted and engaged, they can do anything. T hat's what I witnessed." - David Marshall, Director
