Revels Kids Immersion Day Inspiring
The annual Revels Kids Immersion Day was another enlightening and awe-inspiring event! On March 7th, children from the Revels Kids program were joined by young people of all ages for a half-day of fun and learning as they explored the music, dance, and traditions of Abenaki culture.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Name: Toni Hover
Occupation: Clinical Social Worker
Hometown: South Royalton

Role with Revels North:
Chief Cook during production week for Christmas Revels. (Toni's meals are notorious--the food she provides for the cast are amazing! -Ed.)

Involved in Revels North Since:
I first volunteered for Revels in charge of props in 1985; then I was a runner in 1986. I really started to cook when my daughter was first in Revels, around 1994. I arranged meals for production week every year for about 10 years or so, took a break, and came back after Irene destroyed so much of Revels props and costumes.

How did you become involved with Revels North?:

My husband, Stewart Ketcham, and I were in Revels in the early 80s. Then my children took turns being in the cast. I ran into Sherry Merrick at the grocery store and told her I was willing to volunteer, and she gave me two suggestions: T-shirts or refreshments.  I chose refreshments and that began this long journey of cooking for large groups.

Fondest Revels North Memory:
One summer my children and I were all in the summer Revels, when it was a traveling show. There were some very special times for the three of us together. I remember sitting in our car, reading them their bedtime stories before we set off for home, knowing they would be asleep when we arrived.

Fun Fact:
My life has been enhanced these past 6 years by the gift of singing with the Dartmouth Gospel Choir.

"I like the smell of the mud, of the frozen earth letting go, of the melting snow, of the boiling sap and woodsmoke that go hand in hand with the warming breeze. We've made it through, again. Spring is coming."          - Jim Collins
