Jennifer Jones Austin, J.D.

Ms. Jones Austin, a graduate of Fordham Law School with a master's degree in management and public policy from the Wagner School at NYU, currently leads one of the City's most prominent anti-poverty, policy, and advocacy human services coalitions. She previously served as Senior Vice President of United Way of New York City. She was appointed as New York City's first Family Services Coordinator by Mayor Bloomberg and served as Deputy Commissioner for the Administration for Children's Services and Civil Rights Deputy Bureau Chief for Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. She has chaired several influential boards and commissions, including serving as Co-Chair of Mayor de Blasio's transition team in 2013, leader of his UPK Design Workgroup, and leader of the Jobs for New Yorkers Task Force in 2014. 

Larry E. Davis, MA, MSW, Ph.D.

Dr. Davis holds his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan's dual-degree program in social work and psychology. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Michigan State University and master's degrees in social work and psychology  from the University of Michigan. He has received research funding from sources such as the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Health, and the National Institute of Mental Health. He is the Director and founder of the Center on Race and Social Problems, and the founder and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Race and Social Problems journal. He has published widely in journals. He has written, edited, or co-authored five books including Race, Gender and Class: Guidelines for Practice with Individuals, Families and Groups and Working with African American Males: A Guide to Practice.

Dr. Jansson holds his master's degree in history from Harvard and his doctorate in Social Welfare from the University of Chicago. He has been on the faculty of the USC School of Social Work for three decades. He is the author of numerous books on the history, theory, and practice of social policy, including The Reluctant Welfare State, now in its 8th edition, The Sixteen Trillion Dollar Mistake, and Social Welfare Policy and Advocacy: Advancing Social Justice in Eight Policy Sectors.

Michael Fabricant is a Professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and was Executive Officer of the Ph.D. Program in Social Welfare between 1999 and 2013.  Mike has also been a principal officer of the faculty/staff union at PSC-CUNY for the past nine years.  For 10 years he was a board member and principal officer of the National Coalition for the Homeless. Mike is presently President of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. He is the author of eight books and numerous articles. Presently Mike is working on Austerity Blues: Fighting for the Soul of Public Higher Education  co-authored with Steve Brier.
