Glenn McMurray wins Maxinkuckee Fall Regatta!

Glenn McMurray and Andrea Lee came out on top this weekend at the Maxinkuckee Fall Regatta. Competing in an 18 boat fleet in four races, this was a close regatta that came down to a tie breaking win by McMurray. Sharing the tiller with Karl Lanka

on the 3rd place was hot shot youth sailor, Frank Reig, from Spring Lake. Frank won race 2 for SL68.

No wind hit the water on day 2 of the event so both fleets hauled out early, ate lunch, did trophies and then watched the Culver Academies Military Parade before they all hit the road.

Lake Davenport gets special mention because their club brought the largest number of off-lake boats in both C and MC fleets. LD had a short season this year-only 5 weeks and those sailors were not only eager to sail but also hosted by the Chip Smitson who was generous enough to open his house to 10 of these LD sailors.

Ed and Becky Flurry once again hosted the sailors at their farm creating the perfect ambience Saturday for the first fall social event.

MISSING- Original Emma Rosenheimer Memorial Trophy

Calling all c scow sailors! We are looking for the original Emma Rosenheimer Memorial Trophy awarded for race 5 of the national championship. This trophy was a limited edition painting with hand colored etched sailboats. This trophy was lost before 2008 nationals and we need help in recovering it. Any assistance in finding this trophy would be appreciated. Please check your houses and yacht clubs and help us track down this beautiful trophy. We believe the trophy was misplaced around 2007.

Blue Chip - Okauchee Sept. 13-14

This weekend the top sailors in the country will compete on Okauchee lake for the title of Blue Chip Champion. If you are not sailing at the Fenton Fall regatta, stop by to see these sailors compete and maybe learn a few things from observing the best. Congratulations to all that qualified and good luck!

Nan Norris Beulah Challenge - Sept 20-21

Come join one of the largest C fleets in the world for the newly renamed Nan Norris Beulah Challenge. Now named in memory of one of Lake Beulah's most influential women of all times. This year the Beulah Challenge will have a slightly different feel including a long standing Beulah tradition of a pancake breakfast. Register HERE and come join the Beulah fleet for a weekend of fun.

Support C-Scow sailing - Join the NCSSA

The National C Scow Sailing Association (NCSSA) needs you! Please support your class association and its activities by submitting your memebership dues today. You can pay your dues online by accessing the MEMBERSHIP page at cscow.org. Along with supporting the class you will eligible to included in the 2014 National Rankings, and Junior sailors - you'll be able to take part in discounted or free regatta registration - but only if your are a paid member of the NCSSA.
