Congrats Young Man!
CYDC resident Daniel Holmes picked up his diploma from James Island Charter High School during the week of Oct. 6. We are so excited for Daniel and proud of his great life achievement!

We have Lab Lift off!
Tutors Betsy and Jimmy with the Berkeley County School District  help children in the new Google grant-funded computer lab at Callen-Lacey Center for Children. Google awarded the shelter a $5,000 grant to give the lab a much-needed modern upgrade.

CYDC Motorsports Fares Well
in Racing Debut

It was nice just to have the chance to compete in

A CYDC Motorsports driver prepares to get back on the track after a pit stop during a LeMons series race at Carolina Motorsports Park on Sept. 20.

the Sept. 20 LeMons endurance series race at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC. But the racecar that CYDC youth and Cummins Turbo Technologies volunteers spent half a year rebuilding and designing did more than just participate. Team CYDC Motorsports ended up finishing in the top 30 percent of the field! Additionally, the car came back no worse for the wear even after two days of intense racing. Perhaps best of all, a number of young people from CYDC were able to attend the race on Saturday and cheer on "Betsy."

A big thanks to all of our community partners who helped make this project possible including the aforementioned Cummins, Inc., Rick Hendrick BMW, Exclusively Bimmers and Carolina Chillers Inc.
