Batiks are fabulous summertime fabrics, but there's plenty of room for these colorful artisan fabrics in your fall/winter wardrobe too.

rayon batik

Feel the warmth of this fiery print which features tomato red and tangerine orange for a seasonal temptation. The overprint is rendered in earthy browns and greens to replicate a nature in its winter dress. Rayon batik works well for a pop of brilliant color with your winter basics whether you choose a blouse, skirt or dress. Cozy loungewear makes a great gift too!
rayon batik

Deep purple forms a striated base for a random scattering of dark lavender leaves. The colors are rich and perfect for fall sewing. The large and widely scattered print on rayon batik will work well for tunic, skirt or dress.
rayon batik

Fabulous shade of raspberry and deep blueberry blend in a conserve of mixed berry with splashes of bright blue for contrast. Rayon batik works well for any garment that requires drape from shoulders or waist...soft blouse or dress, flowing skirts and casual lounge pants.

Enjoy this coral reef print that is interpreted in deep sea blue, ultramarine, and brown maroon overprinted in mint green, marigold and muddy earth tones. Rayon batik works well for a pop of brilliant color with your winter basics whether you choose a blouse, skirt or dress. Cozy loungewear makes a great gift too!

Early Winter - mailing tomorrow!
November has an eerie beauty to its natural color. Blues still hover in the background behind gray and earth tones. Rich shades of blue and green offer respite from the dark side, but all are toned down and  settling in for the winter months.

What is distinctive touch+?
Janee, a member of ASDP,  attended the 2014 National Conference in Philadelphia last week. While she was there, she spotted Linda H. wearing a fabric from Sawyer Brook.

Sew 'n Tell
with Linda H
Eagle River, AK

Linda is a sewing professional and the owner of L.H. Design.
She wore her design to the ASDP dinner banquet. The fabric is Arden, from the 2010 Back Room Collection.
When Janee asked if she could take her photo, Linda replied "Yes, great! Now I don't have to send a picture in to SB!"

The dress is stunning and the use and placement of the fabric is outstanding. Very nice, Linda!
