So you don't need to wonder about what's going on!

Calling all Cooks!!! We have learned that Miss Judy D. is going to have surgery in a couple of weeks and will be out of the kitchen for the next couple of months. Thanks to Beth Beuhler for organizing meal planning so that Dr. M. doesn't have to do it all while his beloved is healing. Already, two families have brought food. Thank you! The Dowlings have a big freezer, so keep that in mind as you plan. The only thing they don't eat is liver, but then, WHO WOULD EAT LIVER ANYWAY! :-)

Do you have a day over the next several weeks that you could take a meal to the Dowlings? We will again use the "Take Them a Meal" website to coordinate the process!

Judy said that 2-3 meals per week would be very helpful and that you should call her to schedule what time to deliver the meal on that day.

There are no dietary restrictions.

Sunday, November 2nd, is All Saints Sunday. If you would like the names of loved ones who have died in the Lord to be read during the Roll-Call of the Victorious, send their full names to Fr. Kevin by Tuesday, October 28th. If you sent names to be read last year, and want those same names to be read again, send Fr. Kevin a note. (He has the list from last year.) The Chili Cook-Off is November 7th at the Patricks'. Have you invited someone as your guest for this church-wide social event?

This past Sunday, Kevin and I had the opportunity to attend Van Wert United Methodist on Laity Sunday. At the end, the leader of the service asked folks who serve to stand up as the missions of the church were announced. Preparing the altar, reading the Scripture, visiting shut-ins, going on mission trips, sending cards, teaching Sunday School, preparing funeral meals, making music...the list went on and on. And by the end of the list, precious few remained seated. It struck me how varied and significant are our gifts at St. Augustine's, and how each and every person in this little church makes a difference in the lives of those in the Lord's Kingdom. We are changed by God to make a difference for God.
