Intoxicating Opportunities??

Last week I promised to talk about "intoxicating" opportunities. It was way at the bottom of the page so some of you might not have noticed, nor waited all week for the scoop.

I apologize but the whole big bunch of intoxication will have to wait, as today I'm only going to share one exciting announcement.

A new "Community Friends" Chamber membership

What? NON-business members of the community joining the Chamber of Commerce? Absolutely. What better way to serve our business members than to find ways to make new connections with your prospective clients and customers. And these days, inclusivity is the way to go all the way around.

How does it work?

Any non-business owner of the community will be invited to join the Basalt Chamber of Commerce - students, retirees, homemakers, friends, family, lay-abouts, and those incredible people who volunteer their time for every possible charitable endeavor without ever collecting a penny. Your employees can even enroll and have their own Chamber member discount card.

Community members won't receive your business benefits - free and discounted ads in Aspen Daily News, Aspen Times, The Sopris Sun and Always Mountain Time radio. Nor will they have complimentary advertising and announcements in the Chamber newsletter, discounted RFTA zone passes, or auto rental discount. And, unless they're employees of a current business member, no treasured Chamber Discount Ski Passes. (Remember, you can still enjoy the special ski pass discount with your chamber voucher. More info below)

What they'll get is a better connection to you and a whole different category of relevant benefits. This is where you - our business members - come in. How much do you work to get customers in your door? And how much do you spend? Wouldn't it be great to attract more people to your business year-round and all you'd have to do is sign up. Here's the way it works.

Increase Visibility. Attract New Customers. Boost Sales.

Member-to-member discounts are a great way to draw more attention to your product or service. Participating business members get extra exposure with lots of free advertising, and not only do you and your fellow chamber members save money but you'll reach a whole new category of "community" members. Interested? Here's what you need to do. It's easy.... and it's free!

     Here's the easy part:
  • Download the Member-to-Member Discount Form here.
  • Offer a discount off your standard customer prices, a free product or service, an educational benefit or an annual members-only event. If you're short on ideas, give us a call at 927-4031 and we'll get really creative. The important thing is to be included.
  • Fax, mail, email, or hand-deliver your form straight to the Caboose and that's it!
     Here's the free part:
  • We'll include you in all the promotions for this new program all year long.
  • Your business and special offer will be listed in the widely-distributed Member-to-Member Community Discounts brochure.
  • Plus, you'll be included in the Member-to-Member Community Discounts listing on the Basalt Chamber web page where your entry will be linked to your website.
Here's the Best Part

We're building relationships! The traditional roles of a Chamber of Commerce - political lobbying and general business advocacy - are no longer enough. Sure, we offer networking opportunities, business assistance, educational programs, and a bunch of free advertising. But, in this complex, high-tech, social media world, more is needed for Chamber's to be truly relevant: community involvement and influence.

Progressive Chambers today focus not just on traditional business issues but on the overall financial health and well-being of the community. By embracing a more diverse membership, we can better understand our community's needs, communicate that to our business members, foster community-to-business connections, and improve economic vitality.

I don't know about you but I'm really excited about this new program. I can't wait to meet every person in our community, up and down the valley, and to share the news about all our great Basalt businesses. Please take a look at the form today and get back to me soon. Together we can build a dynamic "Buy Local and Save Local" partnership and a truly supportive and united community. As always.....

Warm regards,

Robin
