It will be a shelter and a shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. Isaiah 4:6 This verse has been a lamp for our feet and a light on our path. We began this journey with a vision from God and fire in our hearts. A shelter, a shade, a hiding place, a refuge for young girls that needed a place to heal. And now, here we are in the Christmas season, a time we spend with family, a time we exchange gifts, and of course, a time we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and it's the perfect time to tell you the GREAT NEWS.

This Christmas we have the opportunity to give the gift of second chances. After years of working toward the opening of a safe home for young girls exploited by the evils of child sex trafficking, Refuge of Light is overjoyed to announce that the Refuge home is OPEN.

The safe home received its license Monday, December 15, 2014. What a glorious day! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first girl any day now. Just like a scene out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, the judge presiding over the placement of our first girl, fought alongside a team of case workers, social workers, program directors and other liaisons to ensure a placement for her before Christmas. The dream becomes a reality. This entire process has taken on many challenges that have seemed insurmountable at times, but the 'possibility of the impossible' cannot squelch the conquering promises of a risen Savior. The true meaning of Christmas is the hope for a future...the gift of second chances.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

Wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a hope-filled NEW YEAR

Thank you for believing,

Refuge of Light Team
