We have some wonderful news regarding the Orange County School Board courtesy of state/church separation ally and fellow religious minority, The Satanic Temple. Lots more below and at our Facebook and Twitter pages!

It's official! The fourth annual bible distribution in Orange County high schools is officially off for now. Attorneys for the School Board confirmed press reports that the January distribution of NIV Christian Bibles, freethought/humanistic/ atheistic literature, and The Satanic Temple's coloring book will not occur until after their policy is amended.

The draft of that policy and statements to the media by Board Chairman Bill Sublette clearly indicate it is being written in an effort to prevent religious literature from being distributed. All along, we have advocated for this, but it is important the Board craft a policy that doesn't allow the Liberty Counsel to sue for viewpoint discrimination. They appear ready to do so. A policy is needed that will limit distributions to materials that are specifically related to public school education. We'll see how we can help with this during the next few months.

I know many of you enjoyed participating in the 2013 distribution and hoped to participate again, but we do NOT wish to engage in proselytizing on secular public school campuses unless there are other religious organizations there. A special thanks to each of you who volunteered to be on our literature preparation team as well!

The CFFC is grateful for the efforts of The Satanic Temple in eliciting the true nature of the literature distribution--one that has no interest in allowing all viewpoints to be heard.

Keep up with this and all news stories on our Facebook, Twitterand YouTube pages.

Simple ways you can help with our shared goals

Are you on Facebook or Twitter? If so, be sure to Like and Get Notifications for your city and/or county government and the various departments that are using social media. This is a common source of state/church complaints. Here's how to Get Notifications on Facebook. Simply Liking a page isn't good enough any more.

If you find something there (or anywhere else) that appears to be a violation be sure to let us know using our Contact Us page at the CFFC website.

Help Wanted!
Want to help with our work? Here's how.

Are you interested in helping guide the CFFC into the future? Whether you have a specific skill to offer or simply want to help out however you can, please let us know. There is much work already being done with more to do!

In particular, we're working on incorporating in Florida, becoming a 501(c)(3), assembling a Board of Directors as well as standing and ad hoc committees to do the work of the organization. Use our Contact Us page to learn more or to offer your help!
