Earlier this week we highlighted programs providing computer science education for girls in our Colorado, MAGiC, and Oregon Collaboratives. As this year's Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) comes to a close, we are highlighting programs in Kentucky and Texas.

CSEdWeek is a call to action to inspire students and colleagues about CS education, to employ new and better strategies for engagement, and to connect with the broader community about the need for and value of CS education. We encourage you to connect with programs in your community through your local Collaborative and the National Girls Collaborative Project Program Directory as we continue to raise awareness about the impact of computing, celebrate the richness of computing careers, and work to address the critical need for computer science (CS) education.

Bluegrass Women in Technology (BWiT)

Lexington, KY

Bluegrass Women in Technology is the student chapter of the national ACM-W (Association for Computing Machinery-Women) at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. The student chapter works towards recruitment and retention of women in computing fields and is open to men and women who are interested in helping improve the representation of women in computing. LexLadiesCode 

Lexington, KY

LexLadiesCode is a women's coding club based in Lexington, Kentucky working to strengthen the community of women programmers in Lexington and surrounding areas by creating a welcoming environment for women interested in technology. Are you a lady  interested in learning to code or in teaching others to code?
