Swirled coloration and the translucent effect it causes give this simple button beauty. Sized for a jacket, it will look great on everything from denim to woolen to tweed fabrications.

In this issue
  • Autumn fabrics are in full swing!
  • 2 local Sew 'n Tell's!

viscose knit
We were struck by the seeming depth of this digital print on viscose jersey. A collage of bits and pieces representing various textures and moods is rendered in fiery orange, haystack and black, with highlights of gingery brown and a fabulous floral in spearmint aqua. This single knit will work up well in tops or dresses. Viscose/elastane.
wool jersey

This is a great pumpkin color! The deep harvest orange is perfect for seasonal wear throughout the cooler months. You will love the softness of this lightweight wool jersey knit for tops, tees and turtles this winter. Milled in Australia.

silk sweater knit

100% silk sweater knits are a rare find. The buttermilk yarns are perfect for "go with anything" tops in your closet. Choose a cardigan, shawl, scarf or lined structured top.
poly cotton burn out

Magnificent florals in rich fall colors are the focal point of this unique print. Delicate and subtle, the burnout construction of this fabrication gives it texture and character. Deep terracotta and kiwi accented with ginger brown are the dominant colors in the clusters. The foliage makes a strong statement in rich magenta on the black ground. Wonderful choice for blouses, skirts or dresses this season. Poly/cotton milled in France.
Magenta ponte
rayon nylon spandex

The glory of this mid-weight ponte is its two-tone structure. Look carefully to see magenta blended with dark blue. This subtle contrast adds depth and uniqueness to the fabrication. This weight will work well for separates and slightly structured jackets or cardigans. Rayon/Nylon/Spandex.
rayon nylon spandex

Deep wine color is so desirable for fall/winter seasons. It says rich, full-bodied and classic all in one sip. This separates-weight ponte knit will work up well in jackets, pants, and skirts. Team with prints or block with solids for wardrobe versatility. Rayon/Nylon/Spandex
also available in 4 other colorways
Georgie Girl merlot
silk georgette

Silk crepe georgette has a high twist and a slightly more dense body than a chiffon. It will work up beautifully in a blouse for day wear or a skirt or dress for evening
cotton elastane jersey

Decorative native designs make up this digital print on cotton/elastane knit. The linear patterned stripes feature complex diamonds in rich shades of wine and raspberry accented with forest, violet blue, melon, cornsilk and taupe. Splashes of white offer contrasting support to the deep colors. Cotton jersey is a customer fav and this one does not disappoint. Great choice for tops and dresses
rayon nylon spandex

The dark red rust color of this ponte knit is just right for seasonal pairings. The separates-weight will work up well in jackets, pants and skirts. Rayon/Nylon/Spandex.
silk charmeuse

Looking for a sophisticated blouse or dress? This printed silk charmeuse will satisfy the search. Black ground supports trillium florals rendered in ecru. A two-tone print offers elegance; the floral pattern offers a bit of whimsy.
cotton stretch twill

Perfect for daywear or casual pants and skirts or a comfortable jacket, this cotton stretch twill will work well in your three season wardrobe. The color is earthy green-a muddy taupe with green undertones. Milled in Italy.

Early Winter - mailing next week!
November has an eerie beauty to its natural color. Blues still hover in the background behind gray and earth tones. Rich shades of blue and green offer respite from the dark side, but all are toned down and  settling in for the winter months.

What is distinctive touch+?
The warehouse was open this past Monday, Columbus Day, and in addition to shopping, a couple of our guests brought in some sew 'n tells! We love that! Thanks!

Sew 'n Tell
with Jeanne Van C
Somerville, MA

Jeanne came in wearing her awesome jersey dress made from Habitat knit, part of the 2012 collection. She tells us she used the Laura pattern from Style Arc.

Very nice job Jeanne, and it looks great on you!
Sew 'n Tell
with Grace H
Sterling, MA

Grace brought along a very adorable skirt that she made and wore to a bridal shower this summer. She told us she styled it with a mint green sweater and finished the look with a a turquoise shawl.
The pattern was Vogue V9007. She finished the skirt with a handsewn hem and self-facing. The fabric is Monterey from the 2014 collection. Sorry out of stock

Thanks for bringing in your adorable skirt, Grace! You put a lot of effort into it and it shows!

Jeanne came in wearing her creation!
