May your memories of Chanukah, present and past, warm you throughout the year.

This Tex-Mex hanukkiah was designed by
Ann Loeb Sikora and her niece, Carolle Bouchett, in 1997. Ann, who was a self-proclaimed "hick from Sweetwater, Texas," wanted to create
something that brought Judaica and the culture of Texas together. Ann's dear
friend and eventual caretaker, Elena "Nena" Almendarez and her
husband executed the design at their metal foundry, Bercal, in San Luis
Potosi, Mexico.
The DJHS awards the Ann Loeb
Sikora Humanitarian Award to those who have made a lasting impact on our community, both Jewish and general, walking in the footsteps of those who came before them. Watch for the announcement of our 2015 Ann Sikora Humanitarian Awardees, who were "Elected to Make History."
