Frappato is often overlooked compared to Sicily's most famous grape variety, Nero d'Avola, but, with its range of flavors, is the prefect wine for Thanksgiving.

Valle Dell'acate Frappato has glorious aromas of violet and rose, accentuated by intense red cherry aromas. Once this wine hits your palate I think you will understand why this is such a great Thanksgiving wine. It has a wonderful medium body that is overflowing with lush cherry and blueberry fruit. The light tannins don't get in the way of some of the sweeter dishes on the table and the wine's wonderful acidity intensifies the succulent turkey. Put a slight chill on it and feast away!

2013 Valle Dell'acate "Il Frappato" Frappato, Sicily, Italy

Regularly $17.99, Special Offer Price $15.29

Cheese Pairing: Boston Post Dairy Gisele, $19.99/lb

Boston Post Dairy has been run by the Gervais family since 1962 and is the 2013 green pastures award winner for Vermont farm of the year. They make a variety of goat milk and cow milk cheese, including Gisele.

Named after Mrs. Gervais, Gisele is a Swiss Appenzeller-style cheese made from a mix of goat and cow milk and finished with a wash of spiced apple cider. Gisele is semi- soft and sweet with just a hint of acidity making it a nice match for the Valle Dell'acate Frappato. The cherry flavors that come through in the Frappato with balance the sweet cream and mulled spice flavors that are apparent in the Gisele.  Enjoy together for an amazing experience!
