June Maintenance Guidelines

gardening-items.jpg After years of working in the industry and building a nursery business around Oklahoma's inclement weather, we are suggesting the following maintenance guidelines:

 * Plant your container and Ball & Burlap (B & B) trees.

* Cultivate and mulch using Marcum's Double Ground Cedar Mulch and Marcum's Grade A Cedar Mulch
Mulching reduces about 70% of the summer yard maintenance.

* Brown patch disease and dollar spot disease can first become visible on lawns in mid-May. Apply ferti-lome Liquid Systemic Fungicide or ferti-lome F-Stop.

Chump's Chatter

What treatment does Chump recommend using while bag worms are in the early stages of growth?

Answer: Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Spray or Thuricide.

Look Closely at this photo. Bag worms are barely visible to the eye. This bag worm was photographed on this Blue Horstman Atlas Cedar on June 5th. Bag worms eat the leaves off your tree and can grow to 1" if not treated.
