SPECIAL EVENTS
Grand Opening: The Art Accelerator Studio/ Gallery 123  

October 3, 3pm

123 N. Broadway  

 

Ceremony and remarks at 3pm, followed by refreshments, studio tours and an opportunity to meet the young artists.

The Art Accelerator is a pilot program sponsored by Berea Tourism which selects young artists and provides business training, studio space, gallery space and other support for a limited period of time. Within that time the young ar
tists will be able to develop the skills that can make them successful in business as well as art. Our goal here in Berea is to 'grow' our new artists and keep ART ALIVE in Berea.

H.O.W.  Hands on Workshops
H.O.W. features workshops scheduled the second weekend of each month. Visit for a long weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - and take one or several classes with our local artists. The offerings will vary each weekend, so check www.berea.com for current listings.
 
Make It, Take It, Give It!

During the holiday season, Berea offers classes designed around completing a project ready to give as a gift. (Or you might just want to keep it!) Come and learn a new skill while creating an extra-special present. The class schedule and registration will be available at www.berea.com in early/mid October.

Festival of Learnshops FOL logo
July 10-26, 2015 
For two weeks every July, Berea offers over 150 classes, in crafts, art, music, literature, cooking, and so much more. Come and take one class or stay a while and take several.  Sessions last from two hours to two or more days. Come immerse yourself in Berea's culture of learning and fun. The class schedule and registration will be available at www.berea.com in February.

Berea Championship Series   

The Berea Championship Series is a set of five races spaced throughout a year. Participate in at least 3 of the 5 to be eligible to win prizes unique to Berea, the Folk Arts & Craft Capital of Kentucky. It's free to register for the series. Registration for each race and race day activities are coordinated through the individual race directors.

Celebration of Traditional Music    

October 16 - 19   

Berea College  

 

The Celebration of Traditional Music strives to represent homemade music passed on from person to person in the Appalachian Region and the musicians who play it. Old time string band music, blues, traditional gospel singing, ballads, and acoustic instruments are featured in a family-friendly atmosphere. Berea College's students, faculty, and staff welcome the public to enjoy this festival of roots music and dancing on our campus. Bring your instruments, feet, and voices, and enjoy the many jam sessions and opportunities to learn how to sing, play, and dance to this music.
