Join us in the bookstore on October 2nd as we welcome author and journalist Alix Christie reading from her debut novel Gutenberg's Apprentice; graphic novelist Farel Dalrymple joins us on October 4th with his dystopian tale The Wrenchies; on October 6th acclaimed novelist and poet Ben Lerner reads from his new novel 10:04; poet and naturalist writer Alison Hawthorne Deming reads from her new book of essays Zoologies: On Animals and the Human Spirit on October 12th; Jamaican fiction writer Marlon James joins us on October 13th with his newest novel A Brief History of Seven Killings; on October 15th Couch author Benjamin Parzybok reads from his second novel Sherwood Nation along with Seattle author Ryan Boudinot; Irish writer Eimear McBride visits the
bookstore as part of Lit Crawl Seattle on October 23rd to read from her award-winning debut novel A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing; and on October 30th Seattle native Charles D'Ambrosio reads from his new essay collection Loitering: New & Collected Essays.  
These are just a few of the amazing authors visiting the bookstore this October. We look forward to seeing you!

- Anne Lamott visits Seattle First Baptist on Wednesday, November 12th to discuss her new book Small Victories: Spotting Improbable Moments of Grace. Tickets ($25 and includes a copy of Small Victories) will go on sale Friday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m. 
- Poet Richard Blanco reads from and discusses his new memoir The Prince of Los Cucoyos: A Miami Childhood at the Broadway Performance Hall on Monday, November 10th. This is a free event.
