La Capitale Chapter of ABWA July Meeting.

We hope you can attend our Monthly luncheon meeting for LaCapitale ABWA this month.

This meeting is packed!  Visits from National Board Candidates, Officer Installation and this is our annual "Hats Off" luncheon.  Come with your best hat!  Our judges have provided an explanation of the history of the event.

We began this tradition some years ago as a way to learn more about our sisters and what really makes them tick. Introductions/networking at each monthly meeting provide an opportunity to promote your business/employment.

THEREFORE, we chose to make our hat "competition" a fun event with the focus on your personal hobbies, passions, family, pets (or anything we might not know about you outside of work). We've encountered some "wild" hats in the past (a mother of the bride who wore a veil littered with all the receipts to show how much that wedding really cost!), a hat decorated with all forms of transportation to show a love for travel, or the member with the "green thumb" who decorated her hat with ferns that turned out to be just weeds! Hey, she got credit for trying!

To give everyone equal time to present the story of their hat, there will be a time limit of one minute. We sincerely hope you'll honor your fellow presenters by adhering to the schedule. Hats usually speak for themselves and need little explanation. Have fun with this...we hope everyone will participate...remember, the more outlandish, the better!  We're looking for some real surprises and lots of creativity from you!

Time: 11:00 a.m. - Registration/Networking 

11:15 a.m. - Meeting Begins/Lunch 

1:00 p.m. - Meeting Adjourned

Please note: The meeting starts promptly at 11:15 

Meeting Fee: Lunch and meeting fee is $25 for members and pre-paid guests with RSVP and $30.00 at the door without RSVP. We accept checks, cash, VISA and MasterCard at the door. Please RSVP by noon Monday. If you have RSVP'd and cannot attend, please let us know by Monday before the meeting at 5 PM via email or you will be billed $30.00 for the lunch.  Payments made in advance will not be refunded on your credit card in case you can't attend and notify us in advance; arrangements can be made through the treasurer for credit toward next meeting or refund by check.
