Calling all shoeboxes!! Bring your Christmas donations to church this Sunday, November 23rd, for a blessing. St. Ann will take the boxes to the local distribution center. If you need instructions about buying for the different age groups, go to the link under From the Website. (Samaritan's Purse asks for a donation of $7.00 per box for shipping. You can write a check or you can contribute on-line, printing a tracking slip that will allow you to follow your gift to the hands of children around the world.)

Thanks go Beth Buehler and the St. Auggie's members who boxed up 151 Thanksgiving meals in Canal-Winchester last night for One Meal at a Time.  Several helped for the first time and made a joyful noise to the Lord on this cold fall night! To read a bit more about this mission, click the link under From the Website.

Advent begins Sunday, November 29th. As in the past, we will distribute mite boxes for donations to the Anglican Relief and Development Fund. The focus for this year: to provide clean water for every community all over the world. We will distribute mite boxes on 29th. More details are to come.

We will have a Thanksgiving service on Thanksgiving morning at 10:00. There will be a Thanksgiving liturgy of word and sacrament but without a sermon. Come, and share your own gratitude for all of God's rich blessings along with others at St. Augustine's.

Last Sunday, surrounded by family and lifetime friends, I had the privilege of singing in my family's home church, Ephesus Baptist, in Raleigh, NC. I was baptized in this church at nine years old, and my father's funeral was held there five years ago.  In every year that
goes by, I count my blessings for parents who love the Lord and who made certain that I grew up in a church family.  My mother is 84 years old now, and this particular Sunday was a highlight in our family journey. She has an intimate relationship with Jesus, and her example calls me to "see Thee more clearly, love Thee more dearly, follow Thee more nearly, day by day."

Do you have a faith story to share? Send it along.

The Collect of the Day from the Thanksgiving Eucharist

Eternal God,

you crown the year with your goodness

and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season:

grant that we may use them to your glory,

for the relief of those in need and for our own well-being;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever. Amen.
