Yoga is an ancient discipline that goes beyond physical wellness. It was created to help you become more aware of your body and establish a strong mind-body connection.  Yoga is a practice, and a journey.  We invite to start (or resume) this journey with us here at Orinoco.

Practicing yoga regularly, at least once or twice per week, will help you manage stress, increase stamina and improve your health. There are so many reasons to practice yoga and many ways it improves your overall health:
  • Yoga helps decrease blood pressure and lower your risk of heart attack
  • Increases flexibility and joint range of motion
  • Improves posture, dexterity and coordination
  • Yoga also increases strength, endurance and energy levels
  • Improves sleep and strengthens your immune system to fight illness
  • Helps manage stress and relieve depression (significantly increases serotonin levels)
Why practice at Orinoco?  Our studio is intimate, clean and inviting. Our yoga instructors are highly trained to keep you safe while challenging you to grow. Our location is very convenient and we have ample parking so you can arrive and leave quickly. No initiation fee, no long term contracts. We also provide mats, comfy blankets, hot tea and essential oils for a deeply relaxing practice. So what are you waiting for? Below is an overview of our weekly classes...

EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF YOGA AT ORINOCO
YOGA BASICS is designed with beginners in mind, focusing on introducing yoga poses & healthy alignment. This class also incorporates yogic breathing and relaxation techniques - great for stress relief and overall relaxation. All are welcome.
Yoga Basics is on
Mondays at 6 pm with Isabel Raci.

"Yoga is for everyone and it is far from just a physical practice.  Through yoga we learn the ultimate body-mind connection.  Yoga helps us become aware of our inner strength and through breath and movement, it offers an opportunity to cultivate peace.  Yoga has helped me recover from injuries and stay centered during various life changes.
My teaching is alignment-based and happy.""
Isabel Raci

VINYASA FLOW is a practice where postures or Asanas are connected through breath for a transformative and balancing effect. Classes build heat, endurance, flexibility and strength. The creative sequencing found in a Vinyasa class is often built around Sun Salutations. All levels are welcome. Our Vinyasa Flow class is on Tuesdays at 9 am with Kris Rumzis.

Kris
"When we listen to our bodies and truly honor them, we not only connect to improve our physical bodies but our mental and spiritual state as well. Connecting with my students on a personal level inspires me to teach daily. I am eternally grateful for this ancient, beautiful practice of Yoga and for the invaluable lessons it continues to teach me."
Kris Rumzis

RESTORATIVE FLOW is a luxurious yoga practice with movements that are slow, gentle, repetitive and rocking to create a class that is deeply nourishing. Restorative Flow classes differ from "restorative poses" in that the class is a gentle flow from one relaxing posture into the next. There is no stopping to gather props, to situate yourself in a pose, or to have the help of another person to position you in the pose. One pose flows seamlessly into the next in a relaxing continuum. Restorative Flow is on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm with Edda Rodriguez

"Sharing Yoga with others is really a privilege. It is an honor to help the students find the connection of breath, body and mind through this practice. Seeing them experience deeper levels of peace, acceptance and greater happiness gives me joy."
Edda Rodriguez

ALL LEVELS YOGA combines fundamentals from Yoga Basics with Sun Salutations A & B to relax the mind by mindfully flowing from one pose to the next linked with breath. A gentle flow style is used to introduce more poses. All level students are welcome. More advanced students will be given more challenging poses. All Levels Yoga is offered Saturdays at 11 am with Joe Kuczodyna.

"Yoga has connected my physical body and opened a path to inner Awareness. At first it served as a way to strengthen and elongate the muscles. Combined with a free weight training program, I saw an increase in bone density. Improving my flexibility has resulted in a 20% faster time in running the mile, while remaining free of major injuries."
Joseph Kuczodyna
