Letter from the President
Dear Friends and Supporters:

On behalf of the WACA Board of Directors and staff, I wish to thank all National Conference attendees for helping to make America and the World 2015 a great success! Renewing friendships, engaging with colleagues and speakers in conversations about Conference topics, and brainstorming on how to strengthen Councils and the national network are powerfully enriching. Videos of all Leadership Day sessions and Conference keynotes and panel discussions will be on our YouTube channel later this week.

In light of the rave reviews of BoardSource executive Vernetta Walker's presentation on Leadership Day - and as part of the World Affairs Councils of America's ongoing efforts to provide leadership and skill-building resources to member Councils - WACA has obtained an organizational membership in BoardSource that will provide Council leaders, staff, and Board members an array of complimentary membership benefits throughout the year. For those who aren't familiar, BoardSource is widely recognized as the leading organization promoting exceptional nonprofit governance and board service.

As a leader within the WACA network, you are now eligible to become part of BoardSource's membership community of more than 26,000 nonprofit leaders across the U.S., which will make it easy for you to access the latest news, resources, and best-practices webinars in nonprofit board leadership, as well as practical experience and suggestions from other members of BoardSource's community.

This great opportunity would not be possible without the generous financial support of WACA Board Member Martha Jones of Jacksonville. Thank you Marty for helping to extend BoardSource organizational membership to the WACA network!

It's easy to register -- I just did so myself. Leaders and staff of Councils in good standing should sign up for complimentary BoardSource membership here. If you have any questions, please contact me. And be sure to share this WACA BoardSource membership link with your Council's Board members. Enjoy the benefits!

Yours,

Bill Clifford

For our Councils, which put a premium on civil dialogue, the commitment to the values of inclusion and diversity of thought and perspective makes us better learners, employees, leaders, and citizens."
