GraWWSSce: It's Our Way of Life

                         As Episcopal Christians we

Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study
the scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve
our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ.
Everything we do is done with an ethic of
Welcome
because we are only here by
Grace.

Ministry of Week- St. Fiacre Garden Guild
Grace Church's Garden of Remembrance and Reflection echoes its message of Enter in Peace with perennial plantings in soft calming colors. Entering through the vine covered archway, St Fiacre statuary beckons us to sit awhile in quiet prayerfulness tuning out the street sounds in favor of birdsong and the gentle fall of water. The building of the new sanctuary necessitated the building of this new Memorial Garden in 2006.  Great care was given to its planning and planting.  Cremains interred in the former Memorial Garden were reverently moved to this new place of rest.
        This garden, is tended by a dedicated group called St. Fiacre's Garden Guild, established in 2005.  Our garden ministry falls under the Welcome category of ministry groups.  Rightly so, as we will be welcoming in the neighborhood of 1,000 guests through the church doors and around our well-kept gardens on July 17.  The gardens at Grace Church were honored to be chosen for one of the locations of the Friendly Garden Club's 32nd Annual Garden Walk.  In addition, we are providing space for the refreshment and restroom break on The Walk.
     St. Fiacre's Garden Guild welcomes new members of any age or gardening skill level. We schedule weekly work days during the growing season. An intentional time of soul tending and muscle stretching may include prayers, scripture, poetry or even cartoons of an inspirational garden theme. Amid laughter and earthworms, we have even accessed the resources of Jubilee House folk; we benefit from their help and friendship while they have a much appreciated way to give back to Grace Church.
    Our mottos are 'we garden without guilt' and 'people before plants'. Members come when they can and do what they are able, though obviously it takes a lot of dedicated hours to produce such lovely results. Times other than Sunday morning, our gardeners become the Grace greeters.  We recognize that our garden ministry is a vital part of welcome and hospitality to all who pass by or enter in.  These beautiful areas surrounding our church and the gardeners who support them speak volumes about the love that lives here. By, Linda Schubert

From the Diocese - Social Media Sunday is June 29th and the hashtag is #Episcopal: In some parishes, every Sunday is a social media Sunday, with members of the congregation tweeting or Facebook-posting quotes from the sermon to share with a wider audience. For those less familiar with how social media can help the Church, June 29th has been designated "Social Media Sunday." Episcopalians are encouraged to do everything from tweet sermon highlights, Instagram something beautiful in their church, check-in on Facebook or Foursquare, share a picture of friends at church on Facebook or even take a Vine video of a bunch of people waving "Hi." Above all, remember to use the #Episcopal hashtag whenever you share something!For more information, see for the EpiscopalShare blog by clicking here now

  • A women's group settled into the Jubilee House for fellowship and a book discussion before taking a break for the summer.

  • There were about 6 people upstairs being led in yoga.... Continue reading more here.
