Register for the 2014 Joint Arts Education Conference!
Presented by the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Arizona Department of Education, the 2014 Joint Arts Education Conference will take place at the Phoenix Art Museum on Monday, October 20, 2014. This full day of professional development for arts education leaders will provide attendees with the tools and resources they need to chart a course for success in their schools and communities.

Register for Poetry Out Loud!
Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a national poetry recitation contest that provides free classroom materials for teachers and scholarship opportunities for students. POL is open to all Arizona students, grades 9-12.

Field Trips for Title 1 Schools
Act One provides field trips to performing and visual arts experiences to Title 1 students in Maricopa and Pima counties. Tickets to the show or exhibit, bus transportation and educational materials are all included, all for $1 per person.
Mayor's Arts Awards Nominations

2014-2015 Arizona Department of Education Student Artwork Competition
The Arizona Department of Education is proud to sponsor their 4th Annual Student Artwork Competition. The 2014-2015 theme is The Art of Science. NCCAS Assessment Pilot Project
The National Coalition for Core Arts Standards (NCCAS) has issued a call for elementary and middle school teachers to help pilot the Core Arts Standards Model Cornerstone Assessments (MCAs) during the 2014-2015 school year. The Model Cornerstone Assessments are rich performance-based assessment examples at the benchmark grades of 2, 5, and 8. The MCAs were designed in conjunction with the new voluntary grade-by-grade Core Arts Standards released by NCCAS in June. Pilot sites will be selected from a range of rural, suburban, and urban classroom settings across the nation. Elementary and middle school arts educators interested in helping to pilot these sample assessments in dance, media arts, music, theatre, or visual arts are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be accepted through Wednesday October 15, 2014. Applicants must complete an online application form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PKY8GKM and forward a r�sum� or CV, along with a signed letter of permission from your principal or school administrator. NCCAS will contact chosen applicants and announce selected pilot sites by November 21, 2014.

2015 National Artist Teacher Fellowship (NATF)
Letter of Intent DEADLINE: November 19, 2014
The Center for Arts in Education invites arts teachers from public arts high schools and Title 1 high schools and middle schools to apply for funding for artistic development through its National Artist Teacher Fellowship program. The NATF program provides grants of up to $5,500 to enable selected arts teachers from all disciplines to rejuvenate their own art-making. A complementary grant of $1,500 is awarded to each Fellow's school to support post-fellowship activities in the classroom. http://natf-arts.orgHarry Chapin Foundation Arts-In-Education Grants The Harry Chapin Foundation funds 501(c)(3) not for profit programs that operate in the United States and fall within three areas, including Arts-in-Education Programs and other approaches to educating young people.
