As you know, we love our group exercise and LOVE having YOU in our group exercise classes. We also recognize that some individuals may require a bit more a personal approach. We also understand that some individuals may simply prefer a personal atmosphere when training.

  

Our goal is to offer services which allow all segments of the 50+ population with an outlet to be physically active a regular basis. With the new addition of personal training, we feel that we have closed a gap in that market.

Yoga Starts in January!
 
Beginning January 6th we will start a 6 week gentle yoga course.  The goal of running the program for 6 weeks at 2 days a week is so that the participants in the class can be taught yoga with a defined starting point that everyone will feel comfortable with, and progress as a group. So this course will be appropriate for anyone who has not done yoga or may even have experience with yoga.
 
Because this course is being offered as a curriculum based course and not a standard group exercise class, there is a fee associated with it. This comprehensive yoga course will last 6 weeks and take place 2x/week at 10:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost for the entire 6 week program for members is $100. This equates to less than $8.50 per session! Most yoga studios charge in excess of $10 per session and allow drop ins. 
 
Can you bring a guest?
Of course! If an individual is not a member of our wellness center, they can still participate at a cost of $120 for the 6 week package.

Time: 10:30am-11:30am
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Length of Course: 6 Weeks
Cost: $100 for members and $120 for non-members
 
What you get:
An individualized comprehensive yoga course that will be focused on a small group of people. Each session there will be no new faces and no drop ins. This course will be the same group of people learning together for the course of the 6 weeks. Much like a small group training session or personal training session.

Take note that this course is limited to 8 individuals. We cannot have anymore than that in this course. We need at least 6 to run the course and would be totally happy with 6.

Chanda has been enjoying her life with Yoga since 1999 when she was first introduced to it in Charleston while teaching climbing at the James Island state Park. She continued with her personal practice while living in Telluride, Colorado for 12 years. Finally, once she moved to Topsail she pursued a training to become an instructor at the Wilmington Yoga center where she earned her 200 hrs. She found that Yoga was such an important aspect in her life and found a need to share this amazing life style with others. She started teaching basic classes at the Wilmington Yoga Center as well as Yoga with children. She spent the next few years earning more hours in various styles of Yoga such as Vinyasa Flow, Hot Yoga, gentle, pre-natal and children's Yoga. She continues to be challenged in her own life and has found that turning to yoga can help with the stresses both mental and physical. By just breath work alone has helped with her own health challenges and has brought so much patience in an otherwise impatient world.
