A Letter to You from the Chairman of the AV Chamber Board

Dear Members:

Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce monitors issues that affect our business community.  We do this by educating ourselves, our members, and by inviting opposing viewpoints on issues that are critical to our Town and our businesses.  In the final analysis, it is through lively debate that issues are clarified and decisions made.  At times emotions play into all aspects of passionate persuasion and may lead to misperceptions and hard feelings among members. We all need to be aware that while information distributed through the Chamber's publications represents the viewpoint of some members it does not necessarily represent the viewpoint of all members or the Chamber Board of Directors.

You recently received a paid insert in the Source newsletter which does not reflect the position of the Chamber but may have been perceived as being an endorsement by the Chamber.  Your Chamber Board of Directors has not endorsed either side of the debate between Apple Valley Ranchos and the Town of Apple Valley.

The Board of Directors will be hearing from both sides of the water issue at our December board meeting in order to better understand the issue. As the Board becomes more informed regarding the process we will share that information with our Chamber members. We will certainly be hearing about this issue in coming months and perhaps years. We would like to keep the levels of respect to a high standard when addressing the issue as it will have such a profound effect on the community of Apple Valley. I expect nothing less from us and our membership!

The Board of Directors believe that only by working together with lively debate among consumers, government, industry, and advocates, can we insure an accurate analysis of any issue.  The Chamber provides members' with avenues to express various viewpoints and the views expressed are those of the author.  Members' viewpoints do not reflect the official policy or position of the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Sincerely,

Sam Pulice

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce
