It's Cyber Monday! Are you shopping through Amazon this holiday season?

As we prepare for the holiday season, we can't say thank you enough. We would not be here today without you. Thanks to justice minded people like you we can begin to envision a day when every woman has the political, social, economic and religious freedom and support she needs to make her reproductive decisions according to her own faith and conscience.

We are able to do all of this because of support from people like you. In addition to a traditional donation to NM RCRC this holiday season, we have joined two movements to make giving a little easier for everyone to participate!

If you use Amazon.com for your Cyber Monday or any of your online shopping, consider using Amazon Smile. Amazon will donate to the NM Religious Coalition without costing you a dime! You get the same Amazon products, the same Amazon prices, and the same Amazon service, but Amazon itself donates 0.5% of your eligible purchase to NM RCRC!  Click the Amazon Smile image, choose the NM Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice as your charity of choice, and continue with your purchase. It's easy to knock out both holiday shopping AND holiday giving!

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers.

What are the eligibility requirements for charitable organizations to participate?

Organizations must be public charitable organizations (not private foundations) registered and in good standing with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) to be eligible to participate. Organizations that engage in, support, encourage, or promote intolerance, hate, terrorism, violence, money laundering, or other illegal activities are not eligible to participate. Amazon relies on the US Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Southern Poverty Law Center to determine which registered charities fall into these groups.

Is there any cost to charitable organizations or to customers?

No. There is no cost to charitable organizations or to AmazonSmile customers. Charities must register to receive donations and have a valid bank account to which we can route donations, but there is no charge to participate and we do not deduct any fees from the donation amount. The shopping experience is identical to Amazon.com with the added benefit that the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate to the charitable organizations selected by customers.

What is the AmazonSmile Foundation?

The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by our customers. Amazon pays all expenses of the AmazonSmile Foundation; they are not deducted from the donation amounts generated by purchases on AmazonSmile.

Tomorrow we will join more than 10,000 organizations in 46 countries to come together to celebrate #GivingTuesday.   We invite you to join the movement and to help get out the give this December 2. Are you wondering what #Giving Tuesday is all about? This short video contains all the details.
