Well, it's been awhile since the last mission newsletter. We have been busy starting the Philippines mission. We just announced the Bolivia information meeting for October 22nd. Natalie is preparing the University Mission team to the Philippines and, of course, the Faith Promise Dinner is coming quickly, November 7th. Oh, did I mention the Navajo mission is going to be starting formation in January.

Faith Promise Dinner

On November 7th we will gather again for our annual Faith Promise Dinner. It is with great excitement that I announce Fr. Joaquin Sanchez will be our keynote speaker and recipient of the St. Francis Xavier Award. Fr. Joaquin was our original contact for our medical mission to Sucre, Bolivia. He is loved by the people of Sucre. He also was far ahead of most priests when it came to reaching out to the people. Fr. Joaquin was not afraid to be among the people. He would say, "Priests need to get out of the sanctuary into the streets." Fr. Joaquin will speak on "How to hearing the voice of the poor." I urge you to come and hear the message Fr. Joaquin will share with us. For those of you who have known Fr. Joaquin here's a great opportunity to come and greet him. I'm sure he would appreciate meeting up with you again. If you still have you invitation send it in. Let us know who you would like to sit with. If you didn't receive an invitation, we can fix that. Just call 815 221-6258 or email [email protected]. Mission update

We have three missions in planning at the moment.

The University Mission lead by Natalie is scheduled to leave for the Philippines on 12/28/14 and return 1/11/15. What a way to celebrate the New Year. They had to leave earlier this year because of the Pope visiting the Philippines. They will be doing similar work that they have done in previous years.

The Medical/Construction/Outreach mission to the Philippines is selected and starts formation soon. The doctors have been working on the supplies to bring will this year. We hope to have a list we can send the Marlie in Borongan of the medical supplies we will be bringing by the end of October. We are very full, but could use another anesthesiologist or two.

The Medical/Construction/Outreach mission to Sucre, Bolivia will start it's formation process on October 22nd at 7:00pm. The information meeting is open to anyone who may want to learn more about the Sucre mission. Come join us on October 22nd at the Blanchette Catholic Center at 16555 Weber Road, Crest Hill, IL 60403. Polo shirts and hoodies

Over the years of mission the office has provided the opportunity to purchase shirts and other apparel promoting missions. If you are interested in purchasing a polo shirt or one of our new hoodies contact Jeanne at 815-221-6258. We have some polos in the tan color and we now have them in a navy blue color, very sharp looking. The hoodies are also a navy blue color. Check with Jeanne and she'll take care of you.
