Re:  In-Parish Rate Changes

Please note that we will boost the in-parish weekly contribution in January 2015 to $17 per week, which is the first increase in 12 years, since 2003.  As you can imagine, the cost of maintaining the buildings and grounds has escalated through the years, so we appreciate your increased donation to address cost expansion.

8TH GRADE FUNDRAISERS-The 8th grade will be raising money over the next couple months in order to pay for their end of the year class trips. Below is a list of the fundraisers that the 8th grade students, parents and teachers have organized:

Buy a raffle ticket ( $5) to help support the eighth graders and try for a chance to win one of many $25.00 gift cards to great places such as itunes, Dunkin Donuts, Macy's, or the AMC Theatre to help with your holiday shopping. News from the Admissions Office: How can you help Spread the Good News about Saint Bridget School?!!   I am glad you asked that.  Here are several ways to help me tell people about all the great things we are doing at Saint Bridget School:

  1. Take a "flyer" from Mrs. Feeney's front desk and put it up around town.  Word of mouth is our best advertiser and we need to be everywhere.  So many places have free bulletin boards.  Each flyer has a push pin attached so you can hang it easily everywhere you go.
  1. BRING A FRIEND TO SBS
I am hosting an Admissions Coffee with Classroom Visits on
Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 8:30am I will meet prospective parents in the cafeteria for a 30 minute question and answer session and then let them go to the classrooms to see our wonderful kids in action.  Do you know someone who might be interested in SBS?  Please invite them and bring them to this event.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in learning more about Saint Bridget School and would like me to reach out to them, please email me at [email protected]

Thank you for all you do for Saint Bridget School

Give a Child a Christmas!

Pick one or more ornaments off the Giving Tree after Mass on the weekends of November 14/15.  Each ornament lists a child's age, gender and one gift that they would like for Christmas.  Purchase that gift for a child and make Christmas a little brighter!

Any questions, contact Shauna Downey at 508-875-5208 or [email protected].  If you were unable to attend Mass at St. B's that weekend, give me a call!  The need this year is greater than ever and we really appreciate all the help we can get!  Gifts should be wrapped and returned to the rectory by December 3rd.

St. Bridget's Food Pantry As usual, during the Holiday Season we will be collecting non-perishable food for the Food Pantry. They have asked that along with the regular items we include some Thanksgiving and Christmas specialty items, which are assigned according to specific grades i.e. Gr. K1 - stuffing,  K - cranberry sauce,  1 - soup,  2 - canned tuna,  3 - chicken/beef stew,  4 - tomato sauce, 5 - canned fruit/fruit cups, 6 - pasta, 7 -toothpaste, and 8 - Ramen Noodle Soup.

As always, we will gladly accept food and paper goods every day.  The Student Councilors will bring the items over to the Food Pantry in the name of Saint Bridget School students. Because the holiday season is upon us, any and all contributions to the Food Pantry will be accepted on an ongoing basis for the months of November and December. Thank you for your generosity.

Thanksgiving Mass:Each year, an inspiring Thanksgiving Mass is celebrated at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning at St. Bridget's Church.  It is a wonderful Mass and we encourage you to attend.  Students from kindergarten through 3rd grade are asked to take a special part in this Mass by dressing up as a Pilgrim or a Native American and participating in the opening procession.  We have a limited number of costumes available at the rectory for those who would like to participate.

If your child would like to be a Pilgrim or Native American, please contact Kim DeMeo with your child's name and grade as soon as possible.  Those who participate will need to sign out a costume at the rectory and arrive at the church in costume by 7:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning.

In addition we are looking for a few parents to help with the children on Thanksgiving morning.  If you are available, please let us know.

From the Religious Ed Office: Any children in grades 3 through 8 who have not received the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist, and wish to do so, please get in touch with Mrs. Barbato in the Religious Ed Office before Thanksgiving break @508-879-4271.

FYI: Snow Days, Mr. Rick Gallagher, Director of School Transportation, relying largely upon the Dept. of Public Works and the Police Dept., as well as personal observations, will relay by telephone, the condition of the roads, sidewalks and parking areas at the schools to Dr. Stacey Scott, School Superintendent. The Superintendent will make the decision and notify the school principals and the media. If the radio and television say there is no school in Framingham Public Schools, that means there is no school at St.Bridget's.

The only circumstances under which Mrs. Chaves would make the decision to close the school would be in an emergency specific toSt. Bridget School.

In case of snow please do not call St. Bridget School. We will use our IRIS (Emergency Response System) to notify all families by telephone. Also you can check the radio and television for the announcement regarding Framingham Public Schools." As far as calling school during the day, the same procedure is followed. Since we depend on the school buses, it is the school bus director and the Superintendent of Schools who make that decision and tell us, again we would use the IRIS telephone system to notify you. Every parent should feel free to determine for themselves whether or not their child should come to school when the weather is questionable.
