Tech on the Wharf: Tech Users & Tech Creators
in Staunton
Thursday October 2nd, 5-7pm at
Shenandoah Valley Brewing Company

Come gather 'round, Staunton technology users and creators! Creating lots of technology? This is your crowd. Busily using technology? This is ALSO your crowd! Let's see how many "users and creators" there are in Staunton and Augusta?   Mark the date and location: downtown Staunton at the Shenandoah Valley Brewing Company, Thurs., Oct. 2, 2014.

This is SVTC's inaugural Tech on the Wharf, modeled after our popular Tech on the Square in Harrisonburg.  We'll network, drink some local craft beers, and perhaps consume some pizza as well. Members and non-members are welcome for this casual networking event.  Invite fellow techies, clients and co-workers--just register each.

Meet us at the Shenandoah Valley Brewing Company's taproom (17 Middlebrook Ave.) from 5 until 7 pm. That's in the historic wharf district between the Amtrak depot and the Augusta court house. You can enter SVBC either from Middlebrook Ave (street parking) or from Byers St. (Johnson Street surface parking lot).

Registration is appreciated so that we may bring you a name tag for networking and also to let SV Brewing Company know how many to expect.

Interested in drones? Check out Shenandoah Drones on Sat., Sept 27th
September 27, 2014, Meems Bottom Covered Bridge (Mt. Jackson)

Shenandoah Drones is an "organization that provides a place to share an interest in flying r/c controlled vehicles commonly called drones and (UAS) Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Our group of members covers an area from Winchester south on 81 to Lexington, running the entire length of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We hold an interest and passion for flying our vehicles and also a responsibility to educate others on the safety of our hobby. We welcome all levels of users from those who are beginners and curious about the many different types of vehicles, to those who were UAV pilots in the military and r/c pilots who have more than 20 years of experience. As a community we will also provide great insight on how to purchase and build great vehicles."

Historic Meems Bottom Covered bridge in Mt. Jackson and Shenandoah River Fly-In. Come join the Shenandoah Drones for our first fly-in, held in a great flying environment. Huge open fields beside the Shenandoah River, just below the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will fly and discuss drones all day.  We will be right beside a huge pumpkin patch that offers the sale of pumpkins and fall food. Come out bring the whole family and pick pumpkins.

Hosted by Rob Thompson, JMU Alumni and founder of Shenandoah Drones
