Dear Friends and Supporters:

With scores of events scheduled at World Affairs Councils around the country this month - including many in our Combating Anti-Trafficking and our Understanding Muslim Societies series - the national network is clearly in "back to school" / "back to business" mode. 

The National Office is gearing up for a busy fall, too, and I want to note a few very important dates:

This Friday, September 5, is the deadline to apply for the WACA China Leadership Mission in mid-October. A diverse group of 10 Council leaders will form the delegation. Complete details are provided below.

Also on September 5, the early-bird registration rate expires for our America and the World 2015 National Conference.  Be sure to share the information with your Council memberships and take advantage yourselves of the discounted rates to our premier national event.

Last but not least, I urge Councils to nominate promising undergraduates for the 25 Conference scholarships made available by the WACA National Board of Directors. Information is below; the deadline for nominations is September 12.

We are putting together a terrific roster of fresh, insightful speakers on the major issues you identified for this year's Conference. With all that is afflicting our world, we will get beyond the headlines in conversations that will engage all generations and shape your programming for the year ahead.
