Mission News, November, 2014
Since ancient times no one has heard,
No ear has perceived,
No eye has seen any God besides You,
Who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
Isaiah 64:4
You have been thinking of us, working along side of us, supporting us and praying for us.

Here is a quick update to recap the last few months and what God has done with your prayers and contributions.

Enjoy the photo story and praise God along with us for His faithfulness.

Thank you for your continued support.
In Jesus,

The Orozco Family
Samuel, Brooke, Lucie, Karolein and Micah
- LATINO Mission Society of Michigan -
Cousins Kate and Karolein, last week of July.

We finished up our 7-month stay with the Rossow Family in Ypsilanti
with Soccer Camp and In His Service Camp/VBS
at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor.
We stayed with The Rossow Family (Brooke's brother, his wife and 4 children)
in their refinished basement since last January, while we searched the State and waited on the Lord for His guidance and timing to place us.

It was a full house and many wonderful memories were made with cousins, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters.

We were honored to receive the gift of their undying hospitality and blessed to be in their personal lives and observe their walk with Jesus.

God kept leading us back to Fowler, Michigan, so we went.
We are pictured here in front of the barn, which was built in 1930.  The house we are renting on theses grounds is where Brooke's Grandfather, Herman Rossow (96 years old), was born.  God had us convinced of serving this area even before the house became available to us.

We see constant proof of His will in putting us here. We are so blessed to be in such a historic place, serving this community, as many family members had done before us (We are the 5th generation of Rossows to live here.)
Karolein, coming home after her first day of school, September.

We spent August cleaning and fixing up the house in Fowler, then Back to School was upon us!
Previous renters had left the house uninhabitable.  We had to put in many weeks of work just to be able to move in.

As we worked, we felt the passion to serve the people here grow in our hearts.  As we poured our labor into the house and grounds, we imagined it being used for ministry: to reach people with the life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We were reclaiming this family property for God's work.  The weeks passed quickly and school started right after we had barely moved in.
Left to right - Farmer Clair Armbrustmacher, Sam, and 3 of Clair's employees, all from Mexico.

In September, Sam drove the rest of our things up from St. Louis, MO.
Talk about feeling confirmation, these fellas to the right of Sam are all from Mexico; they were the ones who helped us move our final things into our new home.  We are surrounded by Mexican farm-workers; God has put us here with a purpose.
Sam towards the end of his 11-day stay in the hospital, on the dialysis machine.

Sam was admitted to the hospital through E.R. on September 26th with pneumonia and kidney failure.
We had hosted a few servant projects at the house, had been unpacking, and planning the start up of ministry when life came to a grinding halt.

Sam was admitted to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for what would be an 11-day stay.  It was like living in slow motion; always awaiting the result of the next blood test to figure out why his renal system went into failure.

Thanks to the doctors, God's amazing design of the human body, and all of your faithful prayers, Sam was released from the hospital and put on an out-patient schedule with the expectation of at least 3 months of continued dialysis.

But to God's great Glory, he was taken off dialysis after only 3 visits to the clinic!

This is quite remarkable and our prayer is that you are encouraged in the truth that God does hear and chooses to work through the prayers of His people who call upon Him through Jesus' name.
"It Works! Global" business owners came out 4 times to serve!
The youth group and leaders from St. Luke Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor came and served with us and a few members from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fowler.

446 volunteer hours were donated by people from all over Michigan this fall to help kick-start LATINO Mission Society's service to the Hispanic Community of Fowler/north Lansing.
Over a short period of 2 months, the number of man-hours graciously given on 5 different dates were.... 446!!! We praise God for this number and the results of the magnitude of hours given to help get LATINO Mission Society up and running!

People have seen the vision for reaching out to the Hispanic people of this area and beyond, and they have already begun to show their love for them by dedicating these work-hours.

Jobs we accomplished were things like: demolishing a granary barn, cleaning out the remaining barn, trimming trees, cutting wood, cutting down trees, moving and taking pictures of antique farm equipment, cleaning behind the barn, raking leaves, cleaning eaves, painting, mowing grass, taking metal to recycling, etc.

Thank you (SO much!) to everyone who came and worked so hard!
We are thankful and excited!
Happy Thanksgiving!  We are thankful for you.  Your involvement in the mission here has enabled us to "keep on truckin'" after the challenges we have faced this fall.

God is Faithful and has used every prayer, every offering, and every act of service you have invested in this work with us.

We are continuing to shape our vision for ministry and are planning the first outreach event around Christmas.

Please, keep praying.  Please also consider a year-end gift to continue in the mission God has laid before us, and you have confirmed in us.
