Whether you are a donor, a volunteer, a fan or a friend, Sequoia Riverlands Trust is so grateful for the gifts you've brought to us.
We're not alone in appreciating your help, though. The hundreds of students who have learned about nature and played at our preserves thank you, too, for creating a children's trail at Kaweah Oaks, and teaching them the wonders of our natural world through games, trail hikes, and in-class learning.
More than a thousand kids from kindergarten through high school, from all parts of Tulare County, and all walks of life, participated in learning opportunities with SRT during the 2013-14 school year. Dozens more have taken part in on-site and in-class projects with us this fall.
But we need your help to expand our reach so more children can grow up thinking a science-related career is in the realm of possibility. We need to train more volunteers and create new curriculums, too.
You can help. Volunteer to work with classes, or to help us add on to the new children's trail. Share SRT's values and information through social media. Or if you can, make a donation next week on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, and encourage your friends and family to get involved in the spirit.
Giving Tuesday follows all those other "days" you've heard of - Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday - with a day not about material things, but the intangible nature of the holiday season. It's all about heart.
Make your gift to SRT on Tuesday Dec. 2 to be a part of this growing trend. It's easy to do on SRT's website.
And follow SRT on Twitter @riverlandstrust, on Instagram @SequoiaRiverlands and of course on our Facebook page as we lead up to Giving Tuesday, and beyond. We're always looking for new friends and fans. That's a gift that keeps on giving.
