Fiberside Chats with Karl Reichert
Karl
Show and tell...I forgot how much fun it can be! During this, my first week as your new executive director, I've enjoyed dropping in to guild meetings, and I'm in awe of the artistry that is presented at these gatherings. I'm thrilled to report to work each day in a place that brings fiber artists and enthusiasts together in a beautiful, inviting and creative environment.

While I am new to the fiber arts scene, I have a long history working in the arts - including the Minnesota Orchestra and most recently as director of the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis. What I have learned is that arts organizations thrive when they are actively engaged with the artists and the communities they serve.

As I begin my new role at Textile Center, reaching out to you is a top priority. This organization has a rich 20-year legacy, and I want to hear from you how we can best serve our mission "to honor textile traditions and promote excellence and innovation in fiber art."

During these first few weeks I am visiting guild meetings and other gatherings of fiber artists at Textile Center. We are also creating a series of informal gatherings over coffee, tea and hot cocoa. We have set two "Fiberside Chats" for Wednesday, December 3 at 10 - 11 am, or Thursday, December 4, 4 - 5:30 pm, and we invite you to stop in and join us. It's also a great time to check out our Holiday Gallery Shop. Please RSVP.

I also invite you to contact me directly. The best way to reach me is by email: [email protected]. Or, you can call me at 612-436-0464. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
