Albemarle Park, located off Charlotte Street,
is a planned residential community that is composed of 45 residences reflecting diverse and very attractive architectural styles that were built on a 32.42-acre tract of land acquired by William Green Raoul in 1886. President John Kennedy is dead. Vietnam looms on the horizon. But days are long and time is cheap in Hardscrabble, a sleepy blue-collar town reluctant to awaken. DJ Elders, a high school senior, finds himself stumbling through the no-man's-land between adolescence and adulthood. Suddenly a striking beauty with a hot body and mysterious background shows up.

DJ notices. She smiles. He falls.

And tragedy leads to homicide as the once-tranquil town

blows up around him.

The Fall of Summer, a novel by

Ted M. Alexander,is a leap back in time, a coming-of-age thriller laced with a touch of tabloid sizzle

This is a very impressive debut . . . No cardboard cutouts here. These are real people, and Alexander makes us care about them...One looks forward to Alexander's second novel,

due out next year.

Seniors on the Move

 Seniors on the      Move

Leave the stuff behind and keep the memories...

Whether you live in New York City now or want to move here, NYC is the place that everybody is flocking to. The over 60 population in NYC is expected to hit 1.8 million by 2030 according to the census bureau.

New York is turning into an adult playground that everyone looks forward to living in. The latest trend today is to wait for your children to leave the nest and then run not walk to Manhattan rather than Florida.

As a real estate sales person for the last 33 years this is part of a more recent trend, and there are many different scenarios...

Let's Take A Look At Your Mortgage

We're entering the New Year with an amazing opportunity to save big! Call it a late Holiday gift from the Feds, but whatever you call it, take advantage of it!

Mortgage interest rates have taken a turn for the better & there is no better time to evaluate your current mortgage. If one of your resolutions was to save more money in 2015, then chances are, that your current mortgage isn't performing as well as it could.

Here's an example of how you'll save:

Jane & John own a primary residence in North Asheville. Their current interest rate is 4.375% on a 30 year fixed note. Their balance on the loan is $200,000 & monthly mortgage payment is $998 not including taxes & insurance. Their recent refinance lowered their interest rate to 3.875% and lowered their monthly payment to $940, a savings of $58 per month!   Spread that over the 30 year term of the loan, &they will have nearly $21,000 additional cash to play with. John has his eye on a new Harley-Davidson but Jane, being the smart cookie that she is, plans on diverting that cash into their IRA account. Go Jane, Go!

It's important to note that mortgage interest rates change daily and rate quotes are specific to every individual borrower. Jane and John aren't real, but the money that you could save certainly is! The bottom line: Whether you're considering a refinance or a new home purchase, now is a great time to act and take advantage of low interest rates. A mortgage consultation is always free and there is no obligation. So please let me know if I can help you keep more of your money in 2015!

All my best,
