On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and the hundreds of Charlestown families that we serve I wish one and all a wonderful Holiday Season.

As we move into the final days of 2014 I want to express the Kennedy Center's sincere appreciation and thanks to all the generous individuals, families and grantors that have supported the agency's mission by donating their time, talent, and/or treasure. This is a very busy time of the year for the agency's staff as the Annual Fund Campaign, Annual Holiday Gift Drive and Annual Flea Market Sale all happen in December.

The Annual Fund provides much needed funding that is used to provide critical educational, antipoverty and emergency services for which we receive no government funds. Every dollar donated is allocated to direct services for our clients. The cumulative effect of donated funds received from the Annual Fund, grants and general donations throughout the year is an improved quality of life for hundreds of individuals and families that struggle with health, economic, employment, and other life challenges.

Last year our Holiday Gift Drive helped over two hundred families provide holiday gifts to their four hundred children. We are hopeful that the community will once again help us reach this year's goal of providing the same or more families assistance.  If you are interested in sponsoring a family this year or making a cash donation to this effort please contact Crystal Galvin by phone 617-580-8140 or by email [email protected].

This year's Annual Flea Market sale was a great success. I thank everyone that donated items to this event as your generosity makes it possible. Our primary goal for the Flea Market is to provide the families we support with the opportunity to purchase gently used items at greatly reduced pricing so they can stretch their limited resources during the Holiday Season.

Lastly I want to thank the many volunteers and interns that work tirelessly to help the Kennedy Center clients in so many different ways. We could not provide such a wide variety of services without your help.

Happy Holidays and New Year!

Sincerely,

Terry Wm. Kennedy,

Executive Director
