In the silence of the morning, explore the deep and sustaining well of energy available through the practice of tai chi. Develop your ability to use the sense doors with great sensitivity, and learn to
use mindfulness to align the body's energy systems, creating balance, ease and renewal.
Kate Staples, a student of Sifu Peter Stein, Sifu Mark Wallaert and Master David Leung, has practiced Tai Chi Yang Style 108 (long form) for 15 years, and will be presenting the weekly class. She toured China in 2010 as part of a martial arts training tour and cultural exchange and was certified to teach "Tai Chi - Moving for Better Balance" by the Oregon Health Authority in March 2014. Oregon Health Authority - Tai Chi - Moving for Better Balance. Kate is also part of the Dharma Leaders program, teaching regularly at Portland Insight Meditation Community.
This course is designed to improve balance and reduce falls. It is appropriate for all ages and no previous experience, strength, or flexibility are required.
