PROGRAMMING

Diversity Youth Art Showcase afp

Art with a Heart's middle school students at Lakeland Elementary/Middle School participated in an art contest through a collaboration with Art with a Heart and the Association for Fundraising Professional (AFP). The participating students explored the ideas of diversity and philanthropy through mixed media creations. Local artists judged the student's artwork to award a first, second, and third place. The winning pieces will be displayed in the Diversity Youth Art Showcase during AFP's March 2015 International Fundraising Conference at the Baltimore Convention Center.

From left to right: Congratulations to Laura, Oscar, and Tali for placing first, second, and third place (respectively) in AFP's Diversity Youth Art Showcase.
Making New Year's Resolutions at James Mosher jm

Pre-kindergarten and first grade students in Art with a Heart's classes at James Mosher Elementary School made "resolution hands" depicting their New Year's resolutions. The individual hands were combined to create a large, community sculpture that now adorns their classroom.

Heritage Snowmen heritage

Pre-kindergarten students in Art with a Heart's class at Heritage Early Learning Center were given a mixed media art lesson and created colorful snowmen collages with their new art skills. What talent!!

COMMUNITY

Weinberg Housing and Resource Center Mosaic whrc

In January, Art with a Heart introduced the residents at Weinberg Housing and Resource Center to mosaic art. The residents will be creating an 8'x8' mosaic mural for one of the common areas in the Center. One participant said, "[Working on a mosaic] is an awesome way to build community," while another said, "It made me feel like I achieved something." Stay tuned for pictures as the project progresses.

Staff and residents at Weinberg Housing and Resource Center have a great time creating the mosaic for the Center.

Welcoming New Friends itineris

Art with a Heart welcomed clients of Itineris for two fun and creative art workshops. Participants created recycled paintbrush people that will be mounted together to form a community art piece for installation in Itineris' new space.

We had a great time working with the individuals from Itineris!
With a Little Help from Our Friends mosaic
Thank you to Ernie (left) and Ned (right) for all your help and support over the years!

Since 2010, Art with a Heart has completed and installed 27 permanent mosaic murals in and around Baltimore. These mosaics have engaged thousands of individuals, providing each person with the opportunity to participate in something creative and meaningful for the community.

Ernie Bonsby, mosaic installer extraordinaire, has been a great friend to Art with a Heart and has made even the most challenging installations look easy. Ned Hiller, of Reisterstown Glass, generously donates all his surplus mirror to Art with a Heart.

We are truly grateful for the help, support, and guidance of these two special men.
