WATER TREATMENT
Portable Deionizing System

Want to keep your fancy car's paint job looking new forever?  After you wash your car give it a final rinse with deionized water.

Deionized water is free of any minerals that will build up and harm your cars finish.   We manufacture a portable ionizing unit that is easy to use.  Simply connect a garden hose to the inlet and a hose to the outlet and spray your car down when you have finished washing it.  The deionized water will rinse off any minerals deposited during washing.  The two stage unit contains media that can be replaced once exhausted, usually after a year or two of average use.

TIPS FOR MAINTAINING YOUR WELL
New Water Regulations

Back in 2005, the BC government introduced new legislation to conserve and protect our aquifers.

Part of phase 1 of 3 phases, passed final reading and was brought into law require all wells have proper well caps, surface seals and construction methods among other things.

As part of the legislation, all wells must be drilled by certified and registered well drillers within the province and all submersible pumps must be installed by certified and registered pump installers. Home owners are no longer allowed to install, repair or replace submersible pumps in their well in an effort to protect our common not so renewable resource.

The government has tabled that by the end of this year, 2014, new legislation will be in place that will further reinforce and enforce regulations pertaining to large volume extraction, mandatory well log reporting and attention to sensitive areas regarding our aquifers.

Stay tuned for updates

Water Spots on Car After Washing

Are spots on your car driving you crazy?

I touched on this at the beginning of this newsletter on how to remedy this problem with a deionized water rinse; but where do the spots come from?

A number of things can create these spots.  The most common is attributed to hardness in your water. Hardness is defined as a precipitate of calcium and magnesium carbonate salts in your water forming on surfaces such as pipes, hot water tank, counter top and the surface of your car.  There are a couple of methods to reduce this problem.

Certainly no filter would be fine enough as we are talking about things on the molecular level.  However ion exchange is the most cost effective method to reduce the problem. Ion exchange or in this case, a water softener is a very effect method to remedy your hardness problem.  Keep in mind that we are exchanging one "hardness ion" for two sodium ions.

There is a slight increase in sodium in the water but not enough to taste or adversely affect the water.  Only persons on strict low sodium diets as prescribed by a doctor, should not drink the water. But for everyone else including your counter top and car will love the water.
