Thousands to Celebrate Historic Texas Victories this Saturday
North Texas pro-life community to transform downtown Dallas
DALLAS, JANUARY 14, 2015 -- On Saturday, January 17, 2015, thousands of North Texans will gather together to pray and witness to the tragic loss of over 56 million unborn children since the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade.  The theme of the 2015 North Texas March for Life is "On the Road to Victory" in recognition of historic legislative victories protecting women from the dangers of abortion in Texas, the closure of several substandard abortion facilities including two in Dallas, and the decreasing number of abortions across the state.

As the result of the continually increasing crowds, the events preceding the North Texas March for Life now take place at the KBH Convention Center in downtown Dallas where the March will originate.  Last year over 7,000 people filled the convention center, with 10,000 marching through downtown.

Bishop Kevin Farrell of the Diocese of Dallas, who celebrates the Roe Memorial Mass each year and helps lead the North Texas March for Life, describes this annual event as "an excellent opportunity to come together to pray and to give witness to the sacredness" of the gift of life and be a witness to Pope Francis' teaching that, "every life is a 'masterpiece of God's creation, made in His own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect'."

This year's Rally will feature the powerful bilingual testimony of a woman who considered abortion but instead chose life for her child and transformed her own life through the Project Gabriel Ministry and its outreach program GEMS -- assisting mothers in need during and after their pregnancy, and helping provide life skills to assist with parenting and personal and professional growth.
