Museum Pass Reservation System

Have you taken advantage of our new Museum Pass Reservation System which allows Dover Public Library cardholders  to reserve any of the Library's 16 museum passes online through our website?  It is a great way for cardholders to see what we have to offer, and when a pass is available, without having to wait until the Library is open.  Links are provided to each institution's website, so you can quickly see what is on exhibition for that day.   To reserve a pass you will need your Dover Public Library Card (in good standing: i.e. not owing us over $10), and your library PIN (which was originally set to the last 4 digits of your phone number).  Don't worry if you are uncomfortable reserving online, you can always call us at 516-6050, or come in. We will gladly do it for you.  Passes will still be housed in the Children's Room and at the Circulation Desk.

*Remember: your reservation is NOT your ticket into the museum.
You must visit the library in person to pick up the actual pass before you go!

Please Return Long
Overdue Library Materials

The Library has dozens and dozens of items that are overdue more than 2 months. When they are that overdue , we charge the patron for the lost item. We also add a lost processing fee for each item. What we'd really prefer is that people return the materials so that others may enjoy them!

Library Card Sign-up Month
was a Success!

We had fun setting up a superhero photo booth near the Circulation Desk as part of National Library Card Sign-up month. Many people had fun having their picture taken with the superhero masks and props. A big thank you to JetPack Comics of Rochester for providing free comics and other goodies to those brave enough to have their photos taken, as well as providing three gift certificates as prizes.

Catalog Corner

Many people mention that the system won't let them renew an item. This is either because it is on hold for someone, has already been renewed once, or was successfully renewed. It isn't clear to some when an item was actually renewed other than the change in the due date, or the fact that it shows up as "Not renewable." To renew an item, login using your 14 digit library barcode and your password. If the item is renewable you will see a check box that says "Renew." Check the box, then scroll down to the bottom of your checkouts and click the button that says "Renew Selected." You should notice that the due date has changed and it now should say "Not renewable," meaning you have used up the single renewal allowed. We hope that clears the process up a bit for those who have been confused.
