Thank You for a Great Start to Our Year

Happy New Year! As we ring in 2015, we celebrate you, our generous Textile Center family. Three months ago we launched a $50,000 fall fundraising campaign, and as of yesterday we exceeded our goal, raising a total of $58,248 from 248 donors. Thank you!

Your support of Textile Center through your time, talent and treasures guarantees that 2015 will be bright. With our new leadership team in place, we look forward to strengthening existing programs and services, as well as launching new artistic initiatives focused on our mission "to honor textile traditions and promote excellence and innovation in fiber art."

As we look ahead to this new year, please don't hesitate to contact me or a member of our Textile Center team with your ideas and feedback about our programming, services, exhibitions, library and creative spaces. We appreciate hearing from you.

Here's to an exciting 2015!

Karl Reichert, Executive Director

Textile Center is opening our doors to help finish it! We'll provide the tools and guidance from artist Marjorie Fedesyzyn, you show up and help us put the finishing touches on this amazing felted piece we will hang in Textile Center. Weavers Guild of MN Upcoming Classes

The Weavers Guild has an enticing line-up of classes in weaving, spinning, and off-loom techniques this winter, including two workshops with tapestry artist Ruth Manning from January 22-25. "Weaving Expressions in Faces," is open to new weavers, experienced weavers who are new to tapestry, and those with years of tapestry experience. Students in her one-day workshop, Handspun Landscape in Tapestry, will use simple frame looms to explore color and texture; it's a perfect way for anyone with a basic understanding of weaving (over-under-over-under) to try out tapestry. (And if you don't have any handspun to spark your image, don't worry! A variety will be provided for you.) As a special incentive to Textile Center members, sign up by January 7 and you will receive the Weavers Guild member price.  Call the 612-436-0463 to receive the discount.
