President Rick McLeod proudly announces Drug Free Rogers Lowell, formed in 1998 by the Rogers- Lowell Chamber of Commerce as a drug-free workplace task force, will now join with Boys & Girls Club of Benton County. The organization's new name is Drug Free Benton County. Mr. McLeod commented, "This partnership is a perfect fit for our community outreach mission. While the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce has been an exemplary partner in the past, the Boys & Girls Club has a strong presence throughout the County and works specifically with our target audience."

The task force's mission was to advocate for legislation allowing drug testing in Arkansas workplaces and provide incentives to businesses implementing drug-free policies. This legislation was passed and the mission was expanded to reduce the demand of illegal drugs in the home, workplace and community. There have been many accomplishments over these years including educational efforts have reached thousands of students primarily in grades 6-8.

Boys and Girls Club Chief Professional Officer Jacob Hutson commented, "We believe this partnership with Drug Free Benton County will benefit the community. Each organization can better leverage ongoing programs together instead of duplicating efforts. This collaboration will also strengthen prevention efforts and decrease youth substance abuse. "

Bill & Rhonda Adams Donate to the Club

Bill & Rhonda Adams, owners of the Vendor Consulting Group ([email protected]) and the Flaps Down Grill, have opened their hearts to the children of Benton County and given a generous donation of $10,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Benton County. The significant donation will assist the Club to expand programs that develop healthy children who are successful in school and make positive life choices.

The Rogers Unit is in the midst of a total makeover thanks to grant funds from Lowe's Home Improvement and other donations.  A volunteer group from Walmart Global Integrated Processes came to the Club to lend a hand. The team helped to complete some of the facility rehabilitation projects such as replacing ceiling tiles, painting, storage room clean up, and putting together new storage units.  Additionally they helps out individual families by taking donated items to our Club members' homes.  Thank you everyone for giving so much!!.

Keystone Club Member "Fernie" Gets National Attention
"Fernie", a new member of the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County Keystone Club, shared some comments on the national My Club, My Life website.  The following is an excerpt from her comments. "The impact my Club has had on me is insanely awesome, considering I recently joined. Becoming part of Keystone opened up a whole new world for me, in the aspects of being able to help, considering my future, being selfless without thinking and learning new skills for life. I'm going into my freshmen year of high school and joining the Club made me realize that it's never too early to take a look into your future. I have met amazing friends that have had nothing but a positive effect in my life and that I've shared endless laughs with.
When you know about something truly great, you just want to share it with everyone around you. There are so many great opportunities and things at the Club that are life changing, like Keystone. We should all involve as many people as we can to make it even better!"  To read her entire comments go HERE.
