Fatherhood. Fear. Revolution. Hope.

Nina, a sharp young woman, dreams about getting out of the ghetto but must resort to dealing and hustling with her street-smart boyfriend, Damon. The sudden arrival of Nina's estranged father, Kenyatta, sets plans askew; a former revolutionary, her father is looking for letters from Nina's mother, Ashanti X, recently bequeathed to Nina in her will. But Kenyatta is not the only one with eyes on the letters - academics around the world are itching for new insight into the relationship between Kenyatta Shakur and Ashanti X. Nina could sell the letters to the highest bidder, share them with her father or keep them for herself in memory of her beloved mother. What are the memories of the past worth to those in the present?

Sunset Baby challenges us to confront both our world and ourselves. As Nina and Kenyatta's relationship unfolds onstage, we follow them from struggle to revolution as they grapple with change, encouraging us to answer: what is your revolution?
