TODAY'S GAME PLAN
Game on: Living out the Fruits of the Spirit
We learned about the 9 Fruits of the Spirit that we need to live out to become a champion for Christ: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL.
We can find this Scripture in Galatians 5:22-23.

Our team in heaven are cheering us on to live out the fruits of the Spirit.
Thank you to all who joined the VBS group at Mass this morning.
Father Brian spoke of Rules and how the Commandments are a blessing that show us the path to Heaven

What we did today at the 5 FAITH STATIONS:

1) COMMUNITY CORNER

Virtue Of The Day : Temperance
We learned about the virtue of Temperance and how important it is to balance work, play and pray in order to become Champions for Christ.

Saint Of The Day: St. Therese of Lisieux

Today the children heard a story about St. Therese of Lisieux.
She entered the Carmelite Convent in Lisieux at age 15, she died at age 24 of Tuberculosis. Therese's "little way" of trusting in Jesus to make her holy and relying on small daily sacrifices instead of great deeds appealed to the thousands of Catholics and others who were trying to find holiness in ordinary lives.
Our saint of the day showed great temperance throughout her lifetime.

Ask your child why St. Therese was known as the "little flower."

Extend the lesson for home with
this easy way to make St.Therese sacrifice beads.
St.Therese used one of these for counting her little presents for God.

2)  BIBLE STORY
Today's Bible Verse:

"Every athlete exercises self-control in all things..."
1 Corinthians  9:25

In the faith station, we listened to another Bible verse song.
When we had a teaching on good fruit/ bad fruit, we all decided that we want to be good fruits!
We also read about a parable Jesus taught his followers:
The Good Samaritan.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Lord Jesus, help us to see the importance of living a life with the Fruits of the Spirit. Please show us the areas in our life where we need to practice them most, especially where we need to practice self-control. Amen.

3)  MUSIC STATION

Our new song today was "Fruits of the Spirit"
Two groups were eager to show off their performing talents on stage.
The Kindergarten group at Opening Ceremonies and the 2nd graders at the Closing Ceremony. The kids really know their moves!!!

and Jesus face stickers. They will bring them home tomorrow.

5) SNACK & GAMES STATION

The storm clouds threatened, but it remained dry and much cooler than yesterday, a perfect day for our "Olympic Games"
Javelin throw, ribbon dancing, tricycle races, hula hoops, sack races, ring toss. The kids LOVED the challenges!

Snack today was very popular: Cheez-Its and GoGo Squeeze Applesauce

FAMILY DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Parents are  the first and foremost Catechists of their children...both a huge honor and responsibility!   Help your child(ren) to get the most out of their VBS experience by following up at home or in the car with a couple of these sample questions.

What was the best thing that happened to you today at Vacation Bible School?
Tell me one thing you learned about temperance?
What Fruit of the Spirit do you need to work on most?
Did you behave well at Mass?
Is there anything you can do to to give God even more glory when you go to Mass?
You took your Guardian Angel to Mass today.   Did you know that? :)
